Anemones at My Window
Original pastel on sanded paper, painted en plein air at the Blandy Experimental Farm Plein Air Festival. Walking through the archway of the Quarters, you are greeted with this happy sight. All along the wall, in front of the French windows grow these long-stemmed, white beauties. This is the 6th and final pastel of the 4 days. I painted this for the "Quick Draw" event. I purposed to paint with intentional, painterly marks, and to do that as quickly as possible. I had such fun visiting with folks as I painted. It brought back such lovely memories, for I had these flowers blooming in my yard at a home in Santa Rosa, CA. I am happy to share this with you at a super reduces price for my Christmas in Virginia Plein Air and Studio Sale. I would normally price a study of this size at about $395.
